If I was a new member here on the boards and a noob... I would have read this and went out and bought a SS. Then after a ride on the SS... curse the day you were born. Lol

Maybe there should be some sort of member ranking... like to know that whatever guys in the immortal class say in terms of gearing... it does not apply to me... or other OOS.

Go check strava segs at Wiss, Harts, CR and u will see the bulk of them on SS...just sayin.

Let’s rephrase my SS thoughts. SS is faster...for lazy people. If you give me gears I get lazy. SS makes me do stuff faster because I can’t downshift.

I'm all talk, no substance. Although, my average was under 16mph and my low gear on the Tarmac is the same as my SS so it might've been about the same either way. I was doing like 25mph along the river for a few sections though.

But if you can make it to the end of 1/4 mile in 1/10 the time u can roll easy and recover before you kill the next 1/4 mile. Gears are ded.
