The Queen got a neo-classic Convertible

Would let these go for cheap. Currently set up with Pirelli winter tires but I think I've decided for this car that I don't really need a set of dedicated winter tires/wheels. I know that everyone wants to out bigger wheels on these cars but I think the 17's are the sweet spot for compliance and handling.

i like those better than the stock -
problem with the stock is they aren't directional, so one side looks different than the other
who does that?

Would it be sacrilegious to install a real radio with carplay in there?
apparently the climate controls can be moved to the lower pod - delete the CD holder,
and use a double din infotainment system in the upper pod.

also re-use those button blanks for counter measures -

I say go for it. It would definitely make owning the car a lot more enjoyable.

Considering the same for my Cayman, although I haven't looked into it recently. From what I remember it's a lot easier if you don't have one of the "upgraded options" (Bose, etc), but might be different with the 986.

I upgraded the radios in the M3, my daughter's 325 and the boy's GTI (and also your truck 😁). Not sure for the Porsche, but usually they have models that fit like stock, best mod ever.

With the bose system, the amplifier is in the frunk. Purchasing a system with low level (RCA) outputs and adapter kit should make it relatively painless to keep the current amp/speaker setup - although not improving sound quality, it would certainly be an improvement in capabilities.

I haven't looked too much into them - but it appears the stock systems use an amber theme, would be nice to maintain that. and no chrome bezel!

2 years and 2 days to make a choice! Nice little entry level Porsche, fits all of the queens requirements, and looks fun to drive.

Congrats Pat!

Was this a BAT find or local?

Oh, and nothing is cheap for a Porsche. It won't be the first time you hear this.
This is not true at all, especially for a 986. Plenty of aftermarket out there and lots of used body parts if needed. Just dont go to the dealer for parts and you're fine

BaT and local to NJ - a dealer that seems to move quite a few of these.
This has some cosmetic work at minimum. Hopefully no surprises mechanically.
