When you spray for weeds I'm assuming you are using glyphosate(round up) or similar non selective herbicide. This will kill exhisting weeds that are coming up, however it will not prevent germination of weed seeds that will produce future weeds.Back to the attention on the hill, I’m going to spray for the weeds and then want to weed mat/mulch.
Should i rake up the rest of the pine needles or go right over?
Understood, are you pro or anti weedmat? When you spray for weeds I'm assuming you are using glyphosate(round up) or similar non selective herbicide. This will kill exhisting weeds that are coming up, however it will not prevent germination of weed seeds that will produce future weeds.
An application of Treflan along with Glyphosate should take care of weeds for a bit longer then just Glyphosate alone.
Fyi Treflan has to be watered in.

Anti. Home owners usually use them, they may work for a year or two but then start coming up and are a pia to deal with because they don't last. There is no such thing as zero maintenance.Understood, are you pro or anti weedmat?
going to try this in my front ornamental beds, see the veggies in the product packaging and no way I'd use them there...When you spray for weeds I'm assuming you are using glyphosate(round up) or similar non selective herbicide. Is that enough to clog the deck on a big mower like that? I have a few spots in my yard that will always clog the deck if it's too high.
cool temps, rain, and a busy schedule have colluded to create this disaster.
Can you say triple cut? the deck is all the way up.

Didn't you say you paid a guy a few pages back?
cause Bobcat...it will bog down a bit, but never clogs.
The first time I heard this I didn’t have a lawn. Now it hits close to home. Maybe next year I’ll have a giant sweet potato patch.

This year is a big experiment of how my lawns fairs. Going to see what mulching alone does. I’ve only watered where I’ve seeded. My lawn was looking pitiful in April, and thankfully has bounced back.Works now
don't be this guy doe, I don't water my lawn unless it's under stress
I also use half of the fertilizer recommended on label, read somewhere we over fertilize
best advice I got here was to cut the lawn at the highest setting

sweet potato greens are actually very tasty, look of it at the Asian grocery stores
They take too much space otherwise I'd grow it for food, tastes like an earthy spinach
