I hear you, I was trainwreck till I got married (late 20s), lots of partying with my broker friends. Though I was still able to do 6 min miles with little effort. Then 10 years slip by and I'm terribly out of shape. Bit better now, but got a lot of work to do.I am going to proudly take that as a compliment. Jan. going to be 39 in my 20's i was in incredible shape. Last couple years i have realized my health is going to take effort unlike my 20's so picked up mtb and soccer to find activities i enjoy to help ensure i will do rhem
#2 = 1 (Max)I'm square in the middle of bucket 4.
Hanover aveWhere In Florham Park?
Idk what my resting rate is or what the numbers should be it was a jokehmm, not too good, is that when you wake up?
Mine is around 50, in my annual last week, it was 46 during the cardiogram. Doctor thinks I exercise like mad, I credit it to low blood pressure and scotch.
No, it's not. You're in very good company, me! I was born in 1966.#5 it's lonely out here!
But seriously... you have some hills in your hood. Should take an advantage of that.
F the running for now... get on your bike and hit those hills!
Just so there's no confusion, I have no intention to race. I might enter one at some point for a laugh but I like messing around too much to get serious about training for it. The way I figure it, the better shape I get in the more I can enjoy the descents after climbing to get there.I know what you are trying to do and it is absolutely appreciated.
I just don't have the interest nor the time to train to race. I am fairly content right now with hanging out with the guys and having fun on the trails. I don't need to be lightning fast to enjoy the trails. If I fall behind in fitness and I can no longer keep up or be in the mid pack and I get drop from the fast group.... no feelings will be hurt. Does that mean I wont be out there? Absolutely not. I will be out there on the trails having fun.
Having said that, it would be awesome to see you guys race whatever cat you guys end up with and I hope to be there you when you do but that will be done from the sidelines.... and to heckle!

Let's play a quick survey today. No need to give exact ages but which bucket do you fall in? I'm in bucket 4, soon to be in with Frank, but then again he'll soon depart to the almost dead bucket...
1) under 20
2) 20-29
3) 30-39
4) 40- 49
5) 50-59
6) 60- almost dead

Yep, still and horse/ass...I am aware of the differences, I spent one Chinese new year in Shanghai...one of the most frustrating experience of my life (hint: I am annoyed by fireworks). Can't go by year, remember Lunar calendar. If you have an early birth date (Jan, Feb) could be the year before
