Going Long and Hard.

Jim, can you throw up your gym workout again? Was reading an article on JeffL and it seems like I really need to start putting some time at the gym. We have one at work and I'm going to try to get down 45 mins every day.

45 minutes!!?? My routine changes throughout the year but almost none of it is directly related to cycling. It's a lot of core, upper body, dead lifts, leg presses, etc. Simple stuff.

Yeah, I can't get away from my computer for more than an hour. Plans are to warm on the rower for 15 mins then do alternating days of lower and upper. Rotating core in between breaks. Since I started riding I've stopped with leg workouts which may have been a mistake.

So you think leg presses and dead lifts are enough? What about lunges?

I spend about 30 minutes tops. We also do push-ups and sit-ups throughout the day at work everyday. My routine is super basic, I try not to think about it too much.
