No ratchet straps, you'll cave in the hull(or your roof). Use cam buckles, you can't overtighten them that way. Also tie the bow and stern to the bumpers so if shit goes south the boat don't fly away. I drive the parkway with a 70# kayak on top of my truck and never have problems, it's just a matter of strapping it right.

One twist in the strap will lessen the humming too.

I don't disagree with if you come up with a better name and I'll change it.

I do want to point out there is a minority of members who objectify women. I've ignored those threads so I can't give an example. I don't believe if I was the one to raise an issue it would be received well, but most of the shit I do isn't may as well do it for the right reasons..
