I use CarPlay all the time and don’t have this problem.

My wife has done intermittent fasting a few times when she felt like she had a few pounds to lose. She lost them, so "it worked." However, it worked because she wasn't eating after 6pm, which means she wasn't snacking while sitting on the couch watching tv at night, so it was just calories...
