Two more - one massive pile near intersection of deer park trail and lakeview trail - this is probably the same one Matt posted above but I am not sure. I couldn’t get past it so I backtracked about 50 yards and took a faint trail up to the road. The main log in that pile may be about 4’ diameter The other is a log across the trail at around 3.5’ high - it is on the trail heading to the old parking lot.
The two blowdowns reported by @de00304 were cleared today! (yes, same one as @mattybfat reported). The big pileup took quite a while to work thru.
The second suspended blowdown was very near the now-closed original parking lot. Being a bit tired, rather than reverse course on all the trails, I decided to bike out of the park along Deer Park road and return to the Panther Valley lot via rt517. That was kind of creepy. Reminded me of Chernobyl! The "unblazed' trail, where the blockage was, had been the trail that I almost always used to access the trails from the main lot. Mother Nature is rapidly reclaiming that trail, and the parking lot itself. The lot now so overgrown that you can barely make out where the gravel was. The section of Deer Park road from the lot to the first residential home is abandoned, unmaintained, and covered with leaves. I passed two very obvious gates marked with "no trespassing" signs and "private road". I hurried the fuck out of there, clearly not feeling very welcome. Was glad I had no interactions with homeowners while I sped out of there. But I did make it back to the car quite expeditiously.
