What have you done to your car today?

So the windshield film on the Mav had to go. Because it sits outside, the wipers get debris on them and then they scratch the film. It was getting so bad that sun glare and headlights at night were causing visibility issues. Driving home the other night I realized it needs to come off before the clocks change and it's dark early.

I was warned about it but I didn't think it would be so bad in 18 months and 10,000 miles.

Heated the windshield, scraped with razor, Goo Gone soak, scrape with razor, stiff brush, Dawn wash, polish glass, Dawn wash, new wipers. All good now. I'll get a stone chip tomorrow!

Sounds like a non-fun way to spend an afternoon!

WTF?

Is that some sort of dealership scam? I have never heard of windshield film, but I would expect it would turn out exactly like that.

Looks great, is that a detached garage? We have a three car now and it's never enough as MrsQ is in the belief that garages are only for cars. We're starting to look at downsize options and my only request is detached 3-4 garage with a lift.
4-bay attached, 13ft ceiling, and a huge improvement over my previous extended 2-bay. Initial intention with this house was to position ourselves for the future, and this did not become a downsize. We do have ones less acre though, does that count?

I have five vehicles now, so I do need to downsize.

C+1 is always the way....
13' ceiling, 1 - 4 post with trays, 1 - 2 post for wrenching, 1 single post.

Let's go!
I don't know anything about lifts. I really like the idea of not wedging myself in and getting claustrophobic when I redo brake lines, but my solution now is +18" of cribbing. I would also be concerned about the pad -I didn't see it poured and the builder was an f-n criminal. May I side-step that?

C+1, yes, always.

standard 4 posts have very lax requirements for concrete, get one with a trolley jack and you can do more than most are willing to take on.
