Stephens State Park Conditions

I received this report for this small blowdown on Orange. The image for its location didn't transmit to me. So I've asked him to resend. I'll update this once I get the pin..

The written description was as follows:

On the image of the trail map. The tree is at marker 1. Marker 2 is where the orange trail terminates on the red trail. So from that point maybe about 2/3 of a mile from that trail head

Small tree down on Land of the Lost, just after the bridge. The beavers have been busy. Hand saw could probably take care of it. No pic.

Saw that someone had a shovel out on Trestle. Looks good

Yep, that was us.

Only had 2 people with me. Hoping more people will come through and help out next year...really hard to dig by hand.

Looked good! Saw it this morning, but didn't hit anything new with the saw on the back of the bike.

I went in quite early this morning to try and clear everything that was reported, but ran into a few extra blowdowns en route from Orange over to "Round the Firetower" and Land of the Lost before I ran out time to get back for family Thanksgiving stuff. Both of those look like they can be done with a hand saw.--Please let me know if anyone gets them before I make it out again.

I did clear the one on Orange in post #1,742 and 2-3 others that were unreported. One here was cleared:

The beavers are hard at wok over on land of the lost. Did maybe sixteen miles today. This was all I remember seeing down.
It snowed on my pretty much the whole ride, then when my brakes were howling down tally ho it turned to rain and ice. Did maze and went home.
Saw three fellas on trestle when I was starting out and three fellas up by the power lines on white. I was the only one making tracks most of the day, but did see a lone set on sunset.
It was a good day

That's one of the ones I ran out of time the other day and couldn't get to. Looks reasonable for a handsaw. I'll keep this and the firetower one on my radar, but not planning on a trip for either of them quite yet.

Glad to hear the rest of the park was in good shape!
