This is definitely the coolest bike I’ve owned- be prepared to talk if you stop on the trail. The frame is a size Medium, made of 4130 steel and fillet-brazed by Cjell Monē (“money”); this was the last v2 he made (very similar to v3). I’ve got it setup as a 27.5+ single speed, but you can run it with gears and stuff a 29er in there (you’ll need a different fork, though). The telescopic dropouts are genius- they make for a HUGE range of adjustment; if you are used to sliding dropouts, you’ll love these. Also, it’s got a high BB, so pedal strikes are rare.
It’s in excellent condition- there are a few scratches in the clearcoat, but I couldn’t find anything down to the metal. It’s a solid build; the Pike is older, but it was a backup fork and rarely used. Many of the parts were pretty expensive (only the Shimano cranks were kinda cheap).
I’m selling it because I am facing the reality of getting older and not riding much. I put the tires on last season and only rode it one time. I’m selling another bike, too… thinning the herd.
Search the web for reviews- everyone loves this thing, and rightly so. If you want cool hardtail that looks like a giant BMX bike (and no one will have anything like it), this is your whip.
Price = $2k
Here’s the build (hit me up if I forgot anything):
Fork – 140mm Rockshox Pike RCT3
Wheels – Ibis 742 Carbon rims with Industry 9 hubs
Brakes – Magura MT8 with 203/200 rotors (because, why not) and Wolftooth lockrings
Bars - Monē Meal Replacement Bars (starting to oxidize)
Dropper – 150mm One Up with gold Wolftooth lever
Seat – Chromag Trailmaster (kinda rare)
Tires – both are Schwalbe 27.5 x 2.60 and only have one ride (Nobby Nic & Rock Razor)
Cranks – Deore XT 165mm
Chain – Connex gold with Molten Speed wax (no oil!)
Bottom Bracket – Saint gold
Headset – White Industries gold
Clamp – Sunday Freeze
Grips – Oury
Top Cap – Monē Brass
No pedals
I’m in Rockaway Beach (NYC) but can ship on your dime.
