@his811Thank you! Don't think I am going to find anything better than this...
I ended up ordering these, from the mention above:@his811
Just curious what you ended up doing? I think I have the same Beargrease as you and I had such a hard time seating the one studded tire that I too am thinking of another wheelset just for the original non-studded tires. Last time I looked I didn't see much online.
thanks for the tip, though it looks like they're sold out now.I ended up ordering these, from the mention above:

The hub is the weakest part - they are Novatec, still a great deal though.
I kept the Colossus tires on the new wheelset, and took my original wheelset/tires (North45 VanHelga) and bought some screw in studs from Amazon and made those the studded tires.

I've ordered from them with no issues. The rims are from Alex which are pretty generic though still decent. Package also doesn't include tires or rotors.thanks for the tip, though it looks like they're sold out now.
What do you think of these? They are same price though no free shipping

Also, I've never ordered from Velomine, their ebay store has some negative reviews particularly on wheelsets
thanks again for the info, I already have tires, however I just checked Amazon and it looks like the same deal that you got, they have:I've ordered from them with no issues. The rims are from Alex which are pretty generic though still decent. Package also doesn't include tires or rotors.
I didn't order the wheelset you linked, just other items, but don't recall what. The tires are very different, where and when are you planning use this set? I have a set of Maxxis FBF/R in 27.5 for general riding, not snow, aren't great, really draggy and heavy. If I rode my fat bike more I'd probably switch to Jumbo Jim's. Helgas are meaty like the Maxxis and are marketed as an aggressive snow tire. I haven't ridden them but many here probably have for real advice. @Steve Vai knows the 45N line very well. For snow I swap over to the Lou/Bud combo, in 26", which doesn't win races but has good traction.thanks again for the info, I already have tires, however I just checked Amazon and it looks like the same deal that you got, they have:
which includes rotors (which I would need) and tires. I already have 45nrth Vanhelga tires from when i got the bike. Wonder if the Maxxis Colossus tires are any better?Amazon.com : 27.5 Fat Bike Wheels Sun Ringle Mulefut 80 Novatec Thru Axle Wheel Set 197mm x 150mm PG Cassette Colossus 27.5 x 4.50 Tire and Tubes Rotors Package Pair : Sports & Outdoors

I'm running this same wheel/tire setup on my Skookum too, but with an i9 rear/sunringle front hub. The BB is low and tires are heavy. Considering Jumbo Jims for next winter for a bit more diameter (BB height) and a significant weight savings.I got the 26x4.8 wheelset for my Shookum. Sadly the only fat fork I have is the Bluto and it doesn’t fit the 27.5 wheelset. I kinda like the wider tires.View attachment 278082View attachment 278083
I have run the JJ's in Summer since they are so darn light, but they were non-performers in snow.I'm running this same wheel/tire setup on my Skookum too, but with an i9 rear/sunringle front hub. Interesting, I know a few people that said the JJs were good in the snow. I used the Minions all winter in the snow. I hear they were terrible in the snow, high rolling resistance, and heavy. I have nothing to compare with for the 1st two points, bylut the data does show they are heavy.I have run the JJ's in Summer since they are so darn light, but they were non-performers in snow.
My bottom bracket is significantly lower than the other fat bikes I rode with all winter. ~1-1.5" lower.I don’t find the bb height an issue on the size medium Skookum. The top tube is a bit higher than I would like. This is another reason I prefer wide tire 26er setup over the 27.5 x4.5. Personally I would love to get some Johnny 5’s.
Thanks for the feedback! I put Dillingers with studs on the original wheelset for riding on snow/ice places like Dickerson Mine or Patriot's Path/Lake Sunrise (however I didn't even get there this winter!). I had originally been riding the 45nrth Vanhelga tires in the summer places like Chimmney Rock or Allaire (though to be honest, most of the summer riding on the Fat bike was by my son. I had planned to switch the tires every 6 months but I had such a hard time seating one of them, that I thought just get another wheelset and put the 45nrth Vanhelga tires on it for summer and I have no complaints about them, seem light enough as tubeless. So I wasn't even looking for a new summer tire but if that wheelset comes with the Maxxis tires, it would just be a bonus and just comparing them against the 45nrth Vanhelga tires for summer general riding. If the Maxxis are heavier/draggy then I guess I could keep them as backup?I didn't order the wheelset you linked, just other items, but don't recall what.
