love a lot of stuff over there. porcupine to roto to the wall is a fantastic loop. i got stalked by a bear on the wall once. he followed me in stealth mode almost the entire trail. had my fastest route time ever that day. good times!

hey does anyone know what they're doing at the pipeline? between pines and old coal they were using bunch of heavy equipment and there were 3-4 pickup trucks there. they were also shuttling people back and forth on some sort of offroad golf carts

pumphouse just after that big log pile what unsanctioned trails did they use? they were all over double pond, pumphouse and the cherry ridge fire road from what i saw

that was insane. i've never seen that many people at once on any of these trails. i must say, REALLY pleasant people though. they were even offering me live encouragement on some of the steeper climbs. you haven't known pressure until you have 10 - 15 people on either side of the trail stopped...

see but that's where i have big problems. besides tax revenue i also pay the annual park pass fee (even did it this year for something like a month of usage). so where does that money go? in 15+ years of riding there i've never once ever seen park workers on a trail. it's 100% left to the users...

it's too bad we can't string up power lines by the aux entrance and red dot trail then so the power company could take over maintenance from the park

what the hell do they keep paving iron mountain trail for? it seems like i've been reading about them paving this one specific trail since like april. meanwhile, i have to actively swerve around craters/potholes at both entrances

i do plenty. it's still not enough although i admit i'm never going to be carrying a weedwacker or a chainsaw in there at any point in this lifetime as it's a struggle just to get my own body around those trails i'll continue to report conditions though as i see them as that's what this thread...

i've been riding there a long time and i've never seen it overgrown like this. there are pockets of areas that get a little bushy towards the end of the season but this year there are huge stretches of trail that you can't see whatsoever. after 3 separate crashes due to the wheel or my cranks...

yeah i get the impression there hasn't been much biking here this season. trails like red dot are actually unrideable, not because of downed trees but because you literally can't see the trail. at all... tremendous thanks for actually lugging a weed whacker with you!
