Dawn patrol today. Double posting of the biggie on black. Wet but not soft. Did blue, white, frisbee golf, black orange, red. This is all I saw. Also want to report the stench of death in the Newman’s lane parking lot. If that smell is your kryptonite be forewarned….that smell is my kryptonite.

This is exactly how I do it for about three years now. I hate the term “game changer” but here we are….. I use an $11 crock pot from Amazon to heat the wax. I also like to leave the chain in the wax for a good half an hour or so. I feel like the metal being the same temp as the wax helps...

There were a couple more, I think on the top of ice cream but the gnats were so bad on that side as well as waving willy that I was reluctant to stop. Sorry.

Curious about a gnat report. Are they bad right now? They’ve traditionally been brutal this time of year in the past. I haven’t been up here in a month or so.

Yes, sorry I meant to clarify that. The tree is blocking each side of a switchback. There also happens to be a “low bridge” just beyond the second pic.

Did a plane crash at six mile or just close. It was the area of S Middlebush and Jacques lane.

Did pretty much everything and this was all I saw. It was all dry and good to go. Lots of hikers. Be polite.

Drove by a few lots but didn’t walk in. Saw three people going out. The fella I spoke to had studded tires and was doing white. From what I saw from the lots it looked like ice and some packed snow but the ground looked frozen, all though I can’t really confirm that.

Maybe I’ll be ridiculed for asking but anyone have an idea if I’ll be rideable for dawn patrol? Supposed to be below freezing all night

So it seems that conditions are good to go. Ground still firm. Minimal mud?
