I got ya. My Pivot has a vertically mounted shock in a similar configuration to the old Sparks, it doesn't get that dirty. Not in the direct line of fire from the tires.

I used to think I needed a full sus xc bike with 2 bottle mounts. That specific feature even factored into the decision-making process on 2 bikes I bought (Scalpel & Canyon Lux). I never race with 2x bottles on the bike... I've never seen anyone I race with hit the start grid with 2x bottles...
