    Continental Road Tires

So I ordered a set of GP 5000 TLs in 700x28C on Amazon for my road bike a bit ago. They finally came about 2 weeks ago….from China. I was under the impression that Conti tires were made in Germany. Hell, the carcass of the tire says “Made in Germany” on it. I think I already know the answer but...

That is a valid point. I have an 8 year old so I get it. I always seem to interpret these conversations as they relate to adults but I certainly don't mean to be dismissive of the virus and children. I am eagerly awaiting registration of the vaccine for the younger age groups.

    6 Mile Run Conditions

I always ride it but I concur that it's not the same as it was. It used to be way easier.

Not the same. Some asshole not getting a vaccine and lying about it has nothing to do with me. It's his problem and the problem of all the other assholes that do the same thing. This whole mantra of getting into other people's business because you don't agree is getting old. And I mean "you" in...

    Disturbing "no helmet" trend

Are we all getting trolled by Toyota or did their marketing department really not know any better? https://cyclingtips.com/2021/06/a-tough-day-for-toyotas-social-media-team/

    GX AXS Lives!

I've used both Shimano and SRAM in the past but most recently SRAM. Even when using Shimano I always shifted both directions with my thumb.

    Raritan 911: Robocop

Honestly, the police need more funding. That money should go to quality training. The reality is the police do get called for all the things you mentioned. They need to be trained to handle it. Reflecting upon the incident that started the whole “defund the police” movement, that training needs...

    GX AXS Lives!

I fumbled around with the standard controller paddle for a couple weeks. Reversing the controls helped a little but I still had to consciously think about which way I was shifting or I would mis-shift. Anyway, I ordered the the “upgrade” rocker paddle that more closely resembles a mechanical...

You’re right. I’m not arguing that. It’s still silly, though.

    Disturbing "no helmet" trend

How was the cyclist "right?" He ran a stop sign and rode out in front of oncoming traffic. Without being able to see the signage facing the cars I would say the driver was wrong for leaving the scene but the collision was the cyclist's fault.

    Disturbing "no helmet" trend

My dad taught me to ride this way when I was a "kid." He was a cop so pretty in tune with traffic laws and people's behavior behind the wheel, etc. It was his opinion that being predictable was key to staying safe on a bike on the road. When you're on the road, act like a car. Follow the rules...

    Disturbing "no helmet" trend

True. I have a buddy who rides a road bike like a total douche...He's always technically correct and legal but he takes a whole lane when it isn't necessary and is a dick to pedestrians who get into bike lanes and whatnot. I don't ride with him much at all but I actually told him to calm down...

Well having to assemble seemingly simple items for hours on end after purchase already had me not wanting to go into an IKEA ever again but this seals the deal. 🤣

    (SOLD) RSD Mayor v5 medium

I noticed right away after I got mine built up that I was going to have to lower my saddle a bit. It makes sense when you think about it.

    (SOLD) RSD Mayor v5 medium

I can vouch this is a sweet ride indeed. @munk1e sorry it didn’t work out and GLWS! PS Let me know if you end up selling it without the Mastodon. I could be interested as mine is fully rigid.

It really is. Most of the time mine is "off" but it's nice to have for those weekend rides at 6MR or Hartshorne.

I'll second this. Timber Bell 100%.

What have you done to your bike today?

If you're worried about getting out quickly enough then you can wind the traction pins in all the way. While leaving them out a little can really make for a solid connection it will also make it more difficult to unclip.
