Pulled the trigger on a trainer, so I guess I need something to use with it. I have a 2011 mtb with an 8 speed cassette, trainer has a 10 speed cassette. Not sure if it's worth converting the mtb, or finding something cheap that will work with it. I guess I need at least a 58cm, lmk what you have.

I am taking a trip to VA, bringing 2 bike, but could use a bit more room in the bed. I was thinking of putting my tailgate pad over the tailgate extender. I would box it out with a 2x4 and plywood so the pad can be secured... Any other ideas or reasons not to do this? Picture for reference
