    6 Mile Run Conditions

I'm working on that with the park. We need something that's fairly durable as previous attempts have been ripped off and thrown on the side of the trail.

    6 Mile Run Conditions

Thank you for turning around :) Everyone should assume that after about 9.30a the trails will thaw and not be ridable. Maybe earlier if they are in full sun.

    6 Mile Run Conditions

If this is happening at the start of your ride, please turn around and ride the tow path. Riding on the side of the trail doesn’t help, it just damages the sides and widens the trail.

    6 Mile Run Conditions

Freeze-thaw cycles are in full effect. Do not ride Six Mile Run if its not frozen. If your bike is muddy when you're finished you are destroying the trails. Don't post it on Strava. Hide your ride. If there's any doubt if it will be muddy, don't ride. Don't make the hour trip. There are signs...

    Navigating Chimney

I don't think it's difficult. Parking - Ballfield (Chimney Rock Rd), Gilbride, or Newmans. Most would park at the Ballfield as it's the biggest and kinda central. Park at Gilbride if you want to get to Cromwell and Hawk Watch. Think of it as color sections instead of individual trails: Blue...

Trail Maintenance December 6th, 2025 8a to noon

I think we're still on for tomorrow. I've got one bigger project and a few smaller ones in the area near the steel bridge. Looking like a good turnout. We might start with a little snow on the ground, but it should warm up a bit. Dress in layers you can remove as digging will warm you up :)...

    Electric Bike Burnouts at Sixmile

No problem with free will. We'll see you at the next TM section to fix all the damage caused. Plan ahead, it's probably a 4 mile hike carrying the shovels, picks, etc. Bring extra snacks and water. We'll be lucky to get all the damage in one session, plan on going out mutliple weekends.

    Electric Bike Burnouts at Sixmile

You can definitely register them in NJ for use in some areas. https://nj.gov/mvc/vehicletopics/motorcycle.htm Brendan Byrne is one of the areas you can run them.

    Electric Bike Burnouts at Sixmile

What would happen is someone would start stacking logs against it and make it a TTF or bushwack around it. There's no easy way to fence off parks and only allow some in. One idea is we (MTBers) create a advocacy group and work with them to get areas where they are allowed.

    Electric Bike Burnouts at Sixmile

It's not just a problem at Six. I've run into them at Chimney and Stevens. The best approach is to document (photos and or video) let them kindly know they aren't allowed at the park. Send the edvidence to the Chapter Lead or Park Land Manager if you know who it is. Park Police are definietly...

    Electric Bike Burnouts at Sixmile

Thanks for info. Knowing when it happened is helpful. I’ll make sure the park knows. If anyone sees them, take video and post it here. Throttle e-bikes and motorcycles are illegal in Six Mile.
