What beer are you drinking RIGHT NOW?

Just killed a Focal Banger from Alchemist. Great Vermont IPA brewer better known for Heady Topper. I drink more stout and wheat beers these days as so many IPAs just phone it in, but this is one of the best on the East coast in my opinion.

Tell me where you rode today...

I rode about 6 miles up and then 6 miles back, and didn't take any photos 😂 My first time there, nice flowy out and back.

    6 Mile Run Conditions

Had a great first ride here today from 27 to the loop at Jacques Lane parking and back. Next time I'll try the blue trail. Thanks for maintaining a cool flowy trail.

    New jump - thanks

I don't think it's part of the course. I rode some of the course this week, it looks good. I like the change they made to CLP to avoid the swamp. Just let this be more warning than I got... if you take the downhill towards the Junkyard, the single table has been altered into a double, and at...

Thanks to whoever changed the old jump at the bottom of the junkyard hill into a double that you can't see until you are on it. Great crash today.

    CLP Trail

It was made by the same people. Maybe check it out? It's parallel to a lot of Molly. It makes a loop back so you don't have to double back on the trail that goes past the pond to the skinnies by the tower. And I didn't name the thing or make it, there's a sign on it that says CLP.

    CLP Trail

A new trail has been added on the "Molly" side, with a good downhill (or climb, depending on direction) and a new bridge over the creek. About a mile, makes for a nice loop with Molly.

    Ever crack a gear ring?

    It was a SRAM PG-1210, 11-50T steel.

    Ever crack a gear ring?

this was a fat bike, but not electric. It was 2+ year old chain and cassette on my main MTB bike, so it owed me nothing.

    Ever crack a gear ring?

The bike is with Peddler's for a new cassette. I was at White Clay and broke half a link in my chain pedaling up Snow Goose. Managed to limp back to the trailhead (and bought a master link for next time) but it looked like the 6th gear ring had a break in it, tooth completely gone in one spot. I...

    IT band syndrome

I had IT band issues from sitting at a desk job. I got a knobby foam roller, the kind that makes you cry, and that did it. Riding and hiking daily has kept it at bay. Glute stretches like "pigeon pose" are your friend.

    Black Run Preserve Conditions

Perfect time to take the fat bike there. When it gets busy, a fatty will get you across the sand pit of the old Aero Haven runway to lesser-used trails.

Go visit Asheville and help their economy! 😊

We usually stop in Asheville and Boone on our way to and from Louisiana for the holidays. I need to stop at the Hub & Pisgah and Brevard this time around.

    Brewery news

I don't have kids. Like it or not, breweries often have dogs and kids these days. If I want to avoid kids I'll go to a bar. It's a long way from the days of hanging out in a warehouse and drinking all we wanted right from the tank. My cousin was told to drink wheat beers to stimulate breast milk...
