Looking at the trail map the classic Mahlon loop would be taking the rail trail to orange or blue, then white, then purple. After that you go to the ballfield lot, cross the road, hit headley overlook, then stone gate back. Much of the single track isn't marked well although Ghost is, but its not on the map.

For more miles you can go the WMA side which you can climb from the saffin lot or take the fire road opposite Orange. It's classic NJ "sort of" marked trails. Here's ten miles and we cut out a lot.

Does good loop mean lots of techy rocks or more smooth? Plenty of loops of that length from Saffin.
