6 Mile Run Conditions

Shout out to the NICA team that was there tonight. One of your riders, guessing out for a pre ride warm up lap, came upon me on his way back to the lot to meet up with y’all. I was dealing with a minor mechanical and he stopped to ask if I was ok, if I needed any help, was I sure, etc.

Must have asked 4 times at least. My (undiagnosed) ADHD tunnel vision when I’m dealing with a problem led me to forget to ask his name. I did thank him and let him know that if I had more issues down trail y’all would pass me by on your ride as I did the walk of shame back to the lot (no walk of shame, rest of ride was great).

Just want to shout out and commend what a fine young man he was, exhibiting NICA values and just good old fashioned humanity. Solid role model there for the youngsters on the team!

That’s our P2crew. Great team this year. Super proud of these kids for who they are and how they behave.

Pls give a shout out on your next practice and re: thank him for me (I've no doubt you can figure out who it was since I didn't get a name!).

Haven’t been here in awhile. What’s the status of the connector between white and canal rd? Last time I was there in fall or winter, it still looked unmaintained and no longer intended to be ridden. I liked that short section since it was fun and I try to minimize my exposure on the road which is rather dangerous given how narrow it is.

It’s still intentionally closed.

Maybe I missed this being posted but this is
In the middle of the bridge off of the concrete bridge.

I only had an hour so I did a quick run through white and blue.

Blue still looked freshly trimmed. Thanks, trail crew! 🙏

This boardwalk remains a work in progress. New sections are noticeably wider. 👍

White was looking good too. I liked the rollers and little table tops from Jacques leading to the red trail.

In this pic, you can see how dry the hard pack is. A few more days of dry weather and conditions will move more toward dusty and powdery, if they are not there already.

What a great time of year to ride. Temps still cool in the morning and the bugs are not yet out in force.

Lots of spring flowers in bloom too.

Last, I got Windows XP flashbacks when I rolled by this scenery… 😁

Whats the history of that long span of elevated wooden bridge? is the area below wet certain times of year?

it gets very wet, and stays spongy in the spring/fall - it is in the flood plain/wetlands.

I was out on blue this morning running the brush hog and conditions are just about as perfect as they’re gonna get! Take the afternoon off and ride 😊
.. and I was out brush hogging before @christryon and I also thought I’d rather be riding!! (We did the tag team brush hog mission)

Face slappers were cut and poison ☠️ Ivy has been cut down low.

Blue should be pretty primo for a bit.
