Conditions are perfect and should be all weekend. Go get some 🚵♂️
The park has decided they would like to do the work to replace this bridge/boardwalk. I'll post an ETA when I get one.

I did not. Given the new bowling lane boardwalk, it looks like they can’t afford an architect or engineer.

My cousin is a civil engineer, but she’s designed quite a few bike paths that would suggest otherwise.
Does she also design box jumps😛
I think it’s a combination of don’t know they need one and some employee saying I’ve built a few decks, it’s just a long deck. They are thinking utility and not aesthetics or interesting from a visual or usability perspective. I’m also guessing they didn’t have any discussion about driving posts in wetlands, cutting pressure treated lumber, or properly sealing those cuts (they didn’t). I could go on…
I’m sure they see that bowling lane as success and want to do that again. Maybe I should turn them loose on a new bridge near Canal Rd and they can just breeze through the red tape 😂

Thanks! We’re just about done trimming on Orange. Hoping to run the brush hog on Red parallel to Orange Friday and then start working on Blue.
Man, with all the hours you guys are putting in down there, i was surprised to hear of ANY trail that was still overgrown. 6MR sure is a beast. Kudos to Chris and crew!

6MR is like the PA turnpike--its so long that when you finally reach one end fixing it up, you have wrap back around the beginning and start all over again.
And its lined with stilt grass, mugwort and poison ivy which all tend to grow like... well... weeds. 🤣
This is so true! Last year, we didn't even get 1 complete pass. We kept trimming right through winter and the snow and ice to get ahead for this year.
It's also not helpful that so much of blue and red are right next to fields that get fertilized. That runoff gets to the trail and...yep helps everything grow more😡
Was out this morning, trails are in great shape. Hero dirt.
This has been cleared. Just a little mud near the steel bridge and by the pallets in the field. Not other obstructions on the Canal side.
If you’re not, please become a member of JORBA. It’s what pays for the tools and gas we need to keep the trails in great shape.
We used the ride around and created a log over that keeps the side clear for the brush hog.
