9/7 Chimney rock and six mile loop

AL.

Does more trail maintenance than you, without a he
This Saturday I ride bikes and I are riding chimney rock and 6 mile run in one loop. This ride will start at his house(right near cr).We will ride chimney rock first then ride the D&R canal down to six mile to do a complete loop and ride back. This ride will be 45 miles+ and will be a decent pace with regroups after the climbs. The plan was to park at I ride bikes house which is located between chimney rock and the canal. We will be stopping at his house After cr to refuel. No start times decided yet but should be 9 to 11 am.Anybody interested?

I believe D"Oh is doing this due to he can't race CX this weekend. Oh, he just told me he is in!

No offense jmartz you won't keep up.Advanced pace .

Advanced pace? Faster riders can do the full loop the slower riders can do the shorter loop. When I do this ride out of Edison, we are all different levels. The faster guys and slower guys stay together on the path. Then when we get to Chimneyrock we usually split up the faster guys do the whole park the slower guys go to hang out and they do sections of the park. It's a lot of fun for everybody. My last time I did this ride we were 27 people.

Yea this is gonna be a small group so we won't really have enough people to split up and don't really want to either. Yes, quick pace with no stops ,meaning I don't want to wait around for a slower group.

I did this ride with Vreeland a while back. It's a long day on the MTB for sure. Also a fan of the very small group....gotta play the mechanical/death odds.

I plan to do this some time soon, I'm riding a century this Sat though so I cant make it.

Just to play devil's advocate, why are you posting this ride if you don't want a lot of people in the group?

I'm planning a similar ride in the fall, but the sourlands instead of chimney rock. I live in between so it would be about 40 miles. No fast riders tho.. me slow

i think al could have used a stronger qualifier, (intermediate, expert, murder pace) in the original post. that being said i am interested in at least the cr part.

This sounds like hell on a singlespeed, let me know at what point on the canal you want to ride off into the water

Bet he wants to get a few other faster riders in on it and this is how to do it. Al doesn't have my # and its a pain in the ass to do this via PM.

I've done this on a SS. It sucks. The whole ride sucks

The whole ride is 50 miles, this is one of my staple winter rides. I would join on a Sunday if you do it again...

You gonna hop on it?,The only bike i ride is a ss and i actually enjoy rides 40+miles on it.The pace i guess will be considered expert, just below murder. On the canal it will be around 15mph.
Jim i will def do this again on a sunday, and have even thought about looping sourlands in the mix with cr and 6 mile.

That's right we're going to have to wait for Al on the canal! 😀

Im guessing your doing this geared? I remember last time riding the canal to 6 mile with you we were both on singlespeeds and i was drafting you the whole time.lol

Sucker!

I am still debating CX this weekend. It is The opener. I have a few hours to make my mind up.
