Ad Hoc - 08/24/24 - Mooch 3 Park (Stephens bail out option as well)

doing stephens first so you dont have the temptation to bail on park 3 as you roll past the cars after 2 parks?

We took your suggestion....the climb up we did from Earthworm was terrible. What's the best way to get from here to here (yellow our route):

from what i recall your origional loop ran clockwise and had you descending earthworm so this means you climbed earthworm on this yellow route?

Correct, yes. I got turned around there and confused Tranquility and Earthworm. Right to left on the screenshot I took...the trail we attempted to climb was more hiking than biking. I also am not a great technical climber so there's that factor as well.
 
It's all a blur now, but I remember that initial climb up from the parking lot being difficult, but not impossible. Some of white would also fit that definition, although given the level of erosion and loose rock, there were sections that felt closer to the impossible end of the spectrum. And then that connector trail to ice cream...just can't imagine that's intended to be ridden that direction.

Maybe this as an option around the worst of white erosion?


Edit: Or west to the BSA trail?

And then the longer way around on white to either meet up with ice cream or just all the way to ditch/cardiac?
 
it doesnt really look like you did anything 'wrong' based on that map, earthworm is really the only way up from that lot, the alternative is to pop out at the sussex branch parking lot and climb up from the sussex branch (either white or red). And without going onto BSA property your stuck going out and around like that.
 
The earthworm climb is what it is. Its direct to the center of the park and I personally like it. When you get further into the park I would skip white and definitely the connector that you hit those are both terrible in those directions. Here’s how I’d go:
