Alpine Boy Scout Trails: what's the story these days?

Just what is the deal on this place currently? I know at least most of the land is owned by the Boy Scouts, who apparently have their hands full with sexual abuse lawsuits now, a very sad history if true. For some reason, that seems to have affected the status of the trails for mountain biking, hiking, trail running, etc, at least as far as this site and Trailforks are concerned, which seem to have purposely deleted the Alpine area as a legit trail system.

Yet work on new sections seems to be continuing, and praise be for that!

I think that area is owned/managed by multiple entities, one of which is the scouts. Parts are also owned by Palisades Interstate Park Commission. The trails off of Ruckman Rd are pretty fun, but I'm pretty sure that building and/or doing any maintenance in there is frowned upon and needs to be done on the DL.

Others here that are more in the know can probably provide better insight.
