Anyone ridden in Fairbanks?

My father is proposing a trip to Fairbanks in September for aurora viewing, trying to decide if it's worth attempting to ride while I'm there. Quickly searching, looks like the Ester Dome trail network is an option and there's a rental place close to the trails.

Maybe gravel or road riding is a good option as well?
 
didn't ride, but hiked.

bug spray, and cover everything.
long sleeve, long pants, neck....
 
I have a dozen or so friends that live in Fairbanks, 2 are Bike Shop Mechanics so I can get you in touch. Long story short, yes, ride a bike.
