Certainly truth.
I hate to stereotype, rules of the road are different depending on the country.
Lots of places don't queue well in any situation - esp when driving.
it is upbringing/socially acceptable, even expected.
Social norms and mores.
Also have drivers who didn't grow up with a family car or driving.
Their feel for the road is much different. 80kph is scary.
I get that.
all my life, trucks stayed out of the left lane whenever possible.
Accepted the speed, honked at middle lane blockers (who would then move into the left lane)
It really is the last bunch of years.

Splitting when the traffic is moving below highway speed isn't horrible.
It is the 100mph between vehicles that are 70+
I was ebiking in NYC the last couple days - Went full on ahole.
bus lane, splitting, running reds (after checking)
I'd be wheelie guy, but no skills.
Blame GTA!
