Beer allergy?

Anyone else get sick after drinking (a normal amount of) beer?

The last few times I've had a couple of pints/bottles, I spend the next day stomach sick.

Am I alone? Missing something? It's not a gluten thing, I can eat bread just fine.

Since it was 'the last few times', was it the same beer? Could it have been expired... and for a pretty long time? Beer is usually good for a while, so it would have to be a while. I still have a stash of Sam's Octoberfest. Otherwise I feel sorry for you and beer not getting along!

Different beers each time (6 total?). The darker stuff doesn't seem to bother me as much. I hope it's not expired if it's coming from a bar!

Tracer: high sulfite levels bother me, too. Batch to batch can make something drinkable/undrinkable for me. High alcohol contents hurt, too (I am reccovering from esophagitis) so liquor usually doesn't go down too well, either 🙁

Oh shit dirty taps! Dirty tap put me in a hospital once...

beer allergy? As ridiculous as a water allergy.

Seriously if all from the same bar buy some bottle beer and see if you have the same effect. If no problem, go elsewhere in the future

Wheat beer does that to me, as well as whole wheat wraps. But I found this for Ya...

Wheat intolerance – Most beer is made from wheat or related grains.
Celiac – This is a genetic form of grain intolerance.
Yeast – Many people have a yeast intolerance or allergy.
Sulfites – A kind of preservative that many people have a food sensitivity to.
Serotonin problem – Okay this part is a guess, but since there is more serotonin in your bowels (%90), than in your brain (%10), and since alcohol is a nervous system depressant, I believe they’re related. I know I feel pretty down for a day or two after drinking even small amounts.
Bowel spasms - The irritation from alcohol (or many other foods) can cause spasms that lead to diarrhea OR constipation. It also hurts like heck!

This reminds me of that episode on Gilligans Island when the skipper thought he was allergic to Gilligan.
If the professor were here he could figure out what is ailing you.

A gluten allergy would cause this.

Does bread do the same to you? Edit: I see that's not it.....

Yeast intolerance may be it. Was it an unfiltered craft beer that knocked you down?
