Beginner Group Rides -Andover, NJ

I started mtb a month ago, and have tried the marty's beginner rides at lewis morris. I was always the only beginner and it was hard for me to keep up with the group. Does anyone know of any beginner groups by Andover, NJ?
 
FWIW, there is a beginner ride 2:30 Sunday at 6 Mile Run starting at the Rt3 27 pkg lot. Group goes only as fast as slowest rider. No one left behind. Good place to get started.
 
I'm actually pretty new to mtb as well and have gone riding in lewis morris on my own the last few weekends. What day of the week does martys have its rides? We could organize our own ride over the weekend too

Dont feel too bad , esp if you just started out . I wouldnt say Lewis Morris is really beginner friendly . I think 6 mile is wayyyy beginner friendly . Ill be back on a bike late October and will be riding again if you need a tour or company.

Go to the tab "Rides and Events" and select "Rides and Events Calendar."

For MTB Rides, it appears that Intermediate rides from Hackettstown shop are on Tuesdays, and Beginner/Intermediate rides are on Thursdays in the Morristown area.

In my experience, the shop rides from Hackettstown into Stephen's State Park and Deer Park are usually at a fairly fast pace and can be in the 12-15 mile range. I would not categorize these as being for beginners, with regard to both skill and fitness level.

Hello gvtmtb9, welcome to the wonderful world of mtb-ing!

There is a group of riders from beginners to higher levels who frequently ride Lewis Morris on Monday and Thursday afternoons. Check this website, it is a Meetup group: http://www.njmountainbiking.com/

The ride is beginner friendly, and no drop.

I know LM, is not so close to Andover, have you ridden in Kittatinny? The above Meetup group does ride there.

Don’t fret the “hard to keep up”, if you keep riding you will be keeping-up quite soon. Remember we all started as beginners!
