Beginner ride Black Friday

Anyone looking for a beginner pace ride? Looking to ride for about 2 or 3 hours Friday afternoon. Anyone up for six mile. Beginner friendly. 12pm at canal lot

There may be no place to ride if the parks are still closed or not cleaned up yet from the storm. I admit I'm not sure which ones fall into the closed category.
 
probably going to take my kid to 6mr - not sure if he is ready for orange, but we'll be out there.
 
Hartshorne is still closed and will be for some time...was just at a meeting last night with MCPS and Huber, Tatum and Hart need a lot of work to be addressed by the rangers before they will let us(volunteers) go in and clean up the trails. Will be weeks if not longer before they are even addressed...
 
I vote canal lot. Too far to tell what time I can't ride earlier than 11 that's what I know so far

for those on a tighter schedule, I won't be crossing s. middlebush, and can lead back through white. at jaques lot we can decide to do red back to the canal lot, or red back to blue, and shortcut using the field trails (or not)
 
Hey All,

a morning event has come up, and can not make it before 1:00. Also, seems that a number of parent/kid combos are committing to attending. might be as many as 8-10 kids.

If you want the quiet of biking without the constant babble, i'd recommend getting on the noon departure. if you can bring a kid,
let's say an athletic 8yr old or 9+, we'll do the trails - if there are younger kids, i'd recommend the canal path - that way families have options!

Anyway, i'm now 1pm with a couple kids in tow.....
weather is looking fantastic, but the weather man has been known to predict nice weather for any holiday weekend......

I've signed up for TM in north Jersey but don't have a time yet. If it is later in the afternoon but I'll make the ride at 6 mile.

You do these often? Unfortunately I don't have a bike yet 🙁 and that's a great place to practice before I hit the sourlands

But I could run with the group - see if you guys on bikes can keep up with a trail runner 😉

how tall are you? Might be able to hook you up with a loaner...need to hear from another friend first though before I commit to it.
