Components look pretty comparable, similar price range and minor differences in geometry. Was wondering what the internet consensus is here and if there is something else I should consider for a "budget" trail bike.

Ibis ripmo af, certainly a bias opinion.
But I like mine. Depends where you like to ride. Definitely wouldn't recommend that if Allaire and Sixmile are your regulars but if your in the rocks and like to play enduro bro then you cant beat the price with what you get.
If you go the direct-to-consumer route be prepared for the scorn and eye-rolling from your LBS.
I didn't say they won't take your money 🙂Shouldn't my money for tuneups be just as good? I have heard this but the D2C route seems to give you more bike for the money.

I have the same model year jeffsy and ultimately went with it over the Canyon based on looks. 😉i have a 2018 (pre redesign) jeffsy and it's awesome. i'm sure the canyon is too, if components are comparable, i'd recommend going with whatever becomes available first. pretty sure the yt's are sold out, not sure about canyon
I had an '18 Jeffsy until I recently sold it and bought a brand new Izzo. So I guess I'm a bit of a YT fanboy. Honestly, the bikes are solid and well built. I had an issue with the rear shock on my Jeffsy and YT took care of it with no hassle. If I remember correctly they actually sent me a new rear shock with a return label for the defective one. I didn't even have any down time due to the issue. I understand the apprehension in dealing with issues when you go DTC but my experience has been good. I have heard that Canyon is not so great, though. Also, bike shops make money on repairs. Who cares if you get a little side eye?
Ultimately, I am capable of repairing almost anything that might happen to my bikes so I don't really have any issues. I don't think I'd recommend a DTC brand to someone without tools or mechanical aptitude, though.
