Car-spotting thread

UPDATE.

Carrera T allocation received. I have until close of business Thursday to decide if I want to take it or pass. Straight MSRP. No minimum options, no watch purchase, no sunroof requirement, no PPF/ceramic requirement, no requirement to trade in my GT3, no nothing, no bullshit like many other stealerships are doing. $414 PA doc fee, tax, and tags.

3/6 lock date, 5/15 delivery date. My proposed build is $128,680.

I asked about the possibility of getting a 992 GT3. The GM was already instructed to return all deposits for people on the GT3 list and delete their order demands in the system as production will end shortly.

I'm leaning towards taking it and giving a 992 a try. But I'll toss and turn on it first.

He offered $110,000 on the GT3 on trade, which is effectively $118,000 with the tax savings. GT cars in the wintertime I suppose. He agreed that number could creep up in the spring but the used car market is slowly returning to pre-COVID values.

Downgrade in performance? That's what an OLD MAN would do! 😃

is the main reason to drive a legit manual again? I'd say you already drove the shit out of the GT3 you have from the touring you have posted.

So for about $10K you will be getting a car just the way you want it?
Color?

One of the reasons. Bought the GT3 with 9800 miles and it's sitting at 22,600 now. So yes, it's definitely been "used".

About that. Private sale on the GT3 is closer to 130. So basically after the tax on the new car it would be about 10 grand.

Yes, the attraction to the T is that it's a great ROAD car, where I spend my time. It's the lightest 992 at about 3300 pounds, which is the same as my GT3. It's down 90hp, but the twin turbo torque certainly doesn't make it seem that way. A GTS similarly equipped would be 155 instead of 128. 100hp more and bigger brakes which really don't mean much on the backroads once you are rolling. A few other things (more alcantara, centerlock wheels, sport design bumpers) that are meaningless to the actual driving experience.

I would like to factory order something BEFORE you can't get a manual, everything is a hybrid, etc etc. Pretty strong rumors floating around that the 992.2 will have at least some of the model line (likely the Turbo/Turbo S) switch to mild hybrid. But no firm details yet. Some of the details about the 992.2 are expected in April, but if I pass on this allocation there are no guarantees that he can get me another one.

This is not an easy decision. The GT3 is so much fun. The sound of the engine is by far the hardest thing to give up.

I'm pretty sure if I move forward I would do Python Green.
