Has anyone ever stopped you guys at a NJ gas station when you want to pump your own? I have never had this happen to me....If I need to get gas on my way to work in the morning and a station is busy I don't even wait, get out, use my CC and do it myself. Never had one of the guys complain. With the mustang.....no matter who the attendant is....in almost 30 years of driving that car I have NEVER once had an attendant so much as attempt to put gas in it or stop me from doing it myself.

Last month at the sunoco in denville....I pulled in with the mustang at about 7pm...there was nobody in the office, but the pumps were on....people sitting in their cars waiting....I got out, filled up my car and was on my way. The women next to me was like, your going to get in trouble....im like for what? I paid for the gas.
I don't think any are aware the cap is behind the plate. So I'm always pumping myself. The Pontiac usually gets gas from the Exxon near Chimney Rock on a Sunday morning when only church folks are around.

The purple Lightning Snake Cobra was the unveiled model, they’re gonna make 5. Forget the drivers name but he campaigned a 289 Cobra, that he bought new, to a championship in drag racing back in the day. Beat the Shelby factory team to do it too!

A new Saleen, a couple of aluminum body Cobras (one a Daytona coupe and the other a twin supercharged big block Super Snake) and a Shelby F150 (800hp on pump gas). That truck would be sweet for hauling bikes to the trails.B9820B08-B015-4653-BD62-260BB609B9B1.jpeg1937FF12-A03A-4333-8CAE-7E1836F7E457.jpegD46B11A1-F6B0-4CAD-9963-2090EC097A22.jpeg883C81C0-A37C-417C-865B-898038247714.jpeg90036198-AD43-4944-9A13-1444CAA5CDA1.jpeg8A328450-E665-4A54-A21B-87D58FEE323E.jpeg

Tons of Torinos, I have one like the white GT convertible. The light green had 21,000 miles and was absolutely gorgeous, driveshaft hasn’t even rusted. All original paint, the engine was rebuilt but it was done nice.

Always wanted to get to Carisle. Some year

Two things of advise:

1) Don't kill your legs the day before. I'm probably 100x in shape from when I've gone but it's way larger than you'd think.
2) Hat & Sunscreen. It's one of those places where you go home and your upper back above your shirt collar is bright red.
Yes and yes, I was rested and walking all over the fairgrounds but my wife and son spent some hours in the shady grandstands.
Always wanted to get to Carisle. Some year
It’s worth going for sure, not sure why it took me so long to go. Definitely gonna come back next year for the Ford swap meet and probably gonna come up here for the Fall Carlisle. Always hear that’s the one to not miss.

Overall it was a very pleasant experience. Friendly people, nice setup for getting in and out

My car is currently apart and partially buried in my garage, has been for 30 years now. I have some old film pics i just took digital pics of. Honestly, I fully intend to get started on the restoration before winter sets in. It’s beyond time to do so and my wife is fully on board and encouraging me which is great. She actually surprised me with this Carlisle trip too. Kids are grown, almost done with college costs and it’s time to get this car back on the road.

It’s been in the family since 1976, I was 5 and on the car lot with my dad when he bought it. 1971 Torino GT convertible, 302 2V C4 car originally medium green metallic. Painted resale red when my dad bought it. I’m going to convert it to manual trans, haven’t decided on what engine to use yet. There are so many more choices now.

Was the day I put a new convertible top on it in one pic. The other was right after I painted it grabber blue, hadn’t even buffed it and put the trim back on yet.

Cleaning up some stuff today and ran across this:

PXL_20230603_214247127.jpg

A set of white gauge faces for the GMC Syclone. Purchased them for mine right before it was stolen (and never recovered). Was going to install them on the second one I bought, but that one was stolen too (and never recovered).

Anyone have a Syclone, let me know are they are yours!

Wow, so I read that Shelby is getting $750k for those 5 replicas... That seems batshit crazy to me. You can buy a regular one from them for around 100-150k

That’s crazy money to me for sure but I think they’ll sell them quick. I didn’t know you could get a Cobra from them for 100-150k, last thought they were 500,000 and half went to charity. Poked around on their site, they want you to contact them for pricing. Those cars were without engine/ transmission and could be had in fiberglass or hand formed aluminum. The replica is the hand formed aluminum and a complete car. Still bonkers on the price. Quick search found the last continuation Cobra sold went for $425,000 and was a complete 427 aluminum bodied csx4000 series with 1 mile.
