Color code confusion

I did a search on google for mountain bike trail color codes and found different answers. And also mention of ski ratings. When I look at the trail maps posted on here they all seem different as well. What's the real difficulty rating? I feel silly for even having to ask this.

This is my guess from easiest to hardest:
Yellow
White
Blue
Red

Not sure what orange means.

Most bike trails are not marked based on difficulty. The colors are assigned randomly just to mark the trails, not as a rating.

There are a few exceptions- I believe Raystown uses a difficulty rating.

I know mountain creek, and I believe other ski/mtb resorts stuck with the ski rating system for their mtb trails (Green=easiest, ie. greenhorn) up to double black diamond expert only trails.....

but most cross-country/all-mountain trail systems are color coded by whoever built and maintains the trail system....

however.....if you ask a trail related question here about a local trail in or close to Jersey....you are sure to get plenty of good advice on difficultly levels from the local mtb community...
