Earlier this year, firestone walker was acquired (they claim merger of equals), now ballast point.

http://www.cbs8.com/story/30531345/constellation-brands-buys-ballast-point-for-1-billion

here is the cliff note version. They own corona.....

at least firestone was aquired by duvel...

this must be the payday for the craft brewer? establish a brand/following, then wait for the bids?

i claim it a sad day. for no other reason than they must now increase margins regularly - that may be by raising the price, or lowering quality.....either answer sucks.

Maybe now they can drop the price on there over priced and over hyped beer.

At least FIrestone went with a solid Brewer and not a conglomerate.

thought you were are resin/hi-res fanboi?

i will concur with the overpriced part.....

let's see - i have a heady, and one of those rootbeer things in my frige...what to do?

I don't know dick about the beer industry but it's possible the ballast business is higher margin than their regular beers and they'll leave them alone. A similar situation happened with our company.

I thought this thread was going to be a list of places with tap takeovers.

Me too, so disappointing!

bait and switch marketing....lernt bout dat in skool
