Still can't get over how no one involved in this knows everyone is on a Class3 bike. Even all of the bikes in all of the Reels on IG using to promote Class1 and this law are Class3.Even the Bikingfireman is on a Class3 🤣

I was trying to explain the class difference thru pictures to my in-laws, but it's like explaining an eggless omelette.

Same clueless stares too.

My son cruises the neighborhood on his 32mph e-scooter and no one bats an eye. His buddies on e-motos (some only go up to 28mph) have been given warnings by our local PD. I know both are equally dangerous if ridden recklessly but perception and news fodder are fueling a lot of the rage. None of these kids are weaving in and out of traffic or blocking cars and pulling wheelies on the boulevard.

Even worse it… It’s completely gutted the bicycle Industries’s ability to sell pedal assist bicycles.

The fact that they’re both called E Bikes (e-motos and pedal assist) has completely villainized what we have sold in volume previously

Except the bicycle industry has started making bikes that are more powerful and faster than most e-motos while hiding under the guise that it’s somehow different. It may have been the case in the past, but now every new generation e-MTB will be over 750 watts and multiclass. The call is coming from inside the house 🤷

"We don't need their kind in Clark or Scotch Plains."

I nearly got hit by one of those things. I was stopped in Hoboken traffic and I see one of those coming down the hill towards me and the rider was struggling to stop the thing. It was all loaded up with whatever cargo he was transporting along with the weight of the bike and himself it's no wonder that thing had a hard time stopping. The rear wheel was totally locked up.
