The Haul weighs 100lbs, like actually. It has a 400lb cargo capacity. The brakes are designed for a 25lb Walmart bike 🤣

Way too common in the ebike world. 90% of the build budget goes into the E-Stuff. 1% goes into brakes. Duh

Passaic county bans all e-bikes in County park property (July 2026)
so that's High Mountain, Jungle, Ringwood, Wawayanda

yet they fail to give a break-down of the stats by class/speed/pedal/throttle.
what about a 1-wheel? it isn't a bicycle - they specifically have two wheels.........
what about motorized all-wheel mountain boards - they have 4 wheels......

Let's talk about Low powered ebikes..

I just put my wife on our shop demo Pivot shuttle SL/AM for the first time. This is a low powered ebike based around the Bosch SX drive unit.

My goal for her was to lessen the gap between her and our NICA racer daughter.

She was a bit wary of it at first but by using the Bosch Flow App I was able to tune it down so low at first that she barely noted this was helping her at all. Over the next hour I slightly bumped up the assistance level as she felt comfortable.

Over the course of one ride I was able to help her bridge the gap to ride with faster rider on analog bikes.

This of course is not punchy enough to ride with full powered ebikes (unless they roll on eco mode), but for the case of riding with faster riders on analog bike or riders on low powered ebikes, this an awesome solution.

This bike is available to demo in size small. It's perfect if you need just a little boost and the idea of a much lighter overall package is appealing.

It also can be run with the range extender for those longer efforts.

I am pretty pumped on how this worked on the trail and I can see her using this more as a NICA coach.

This made me chuckle, with Jackie on that thing simply destroyed US full powered old guys 😁. Felt pretty humble after that ride.

This is how you can end up with two e-bikes. A full-powered model to ride with other e-bikes and a low/mid-power model to ride with faster analog riders. While you can absolutely make a full-powered bike work as a low-powered bike, you do give up a bit of the "fun" aspect as you're pedaling around more bike than you really need. Not that you can't make it work, but over the last year-plus I've had my 54 lbs. Heckler, when I get on one of my regular bikes I am reminded of how much fun a lighter bike can be.

I can see something like an Orbea Rise in my future... once I can actually ride a bike again...

How much does this bike weigh and what's the price?

That’s awesome when spouses can ride together. ā¤ļø
Indeed!

We are riding in Vermont later this summer and i am excited to take her on some bigger rider with this bike. With the ranger extender, she will get to see some trails this summer that she has never been able to access before.

In the past I would bust out the Tow Wee strap on some bigger rides as 20+ miles was enough to knock her out.

The stability of the heavier bike and much burlier tires than she has ever run should work in her favor. It offers her some serious confidence and hopefully reduces some anxiety on more rough trails.

43 lbs with Enduro tires. 11k.

My wife didn't mind the weight, in fact she said its the most steady bikes shes ever been on.

She has no idea what it costs. Likely better.
11K, that's crazy. I would never spend that kind of money on bicycle...
