Eulogy in Philly

I went out with a few friends to the Flying Fish Brewery which sparked a need for beer consumption so we went to Eulogy which is a beer bar in Philly and man, their beer list was 3 full pages front and back. I got to try some really nice beers. A few new ones that were fun:

Brooklyn Black Ops (super strong)
B.O.R.I.S. The Crusher

I also got some generic IPA that was OKAY. At some point everything got hazy 😉 All in all this place was a blast, I could see myself going back.

I used to go there a lot when I lived in Philly. The beer selection is amazing, and the food is pretty good too.

I was in Philly w/ a few friends around Halloween last year to see Pearl Jam close the Spectrum.

We hit up Eulogy before each show and "hazy" is a good word for it 😀 This is definitely a must see place when you go to Philly. If you like beer, that is. You will not be able to choose between all of the goodness on the menu.

If I was told that I needed to find the best beer on tap within a 70 mile radius or else my jewels would be cut off, I would head into Philly fer sher. The Abbaye in Fishtown always has ridiculous selection as does Union Jacks in Manayunk which had Pliny the Elder on tap back in Nov. jus sayin'😉 glad ya had a good time Leo!

If I lived in Philly I'd drink a lot, too. 😉

Even the Bridgewater Pub in the 30th Street Station has a decent selection. I try to take advantage of the 30 minute Amtrak layover on my commute home from Paoli to NYC, as often as I can.

Had no idea Philly was such the beer city... I will add it to the " What hell is there to do tonight?" list...

Any NYC links or Beer tips? I recently started working in the City again (East side of Midtown).

dba (1st Ave betw 2nd & 3rd) is a classic- incredible selection. Ginger Man on 36th is good. Brooklyn's got some prime spots like Mugs in Williamsburg, and even spots like BBQ restaurant Fette Sau have an awesomely curated selection of taps, with stuff like Sixpoint Rye for $5/pint (Spuyten Duyvil across the street from it if you're into obscure Belgian beers or Flemish sour ales).

There's so much more, but now that I have kids I just don't spend much time out in bars in NYC. I spend more time in bars in Philly, while traveling for work, strangely...
