From Cyclecraft: Sign up for the New Jersey Fat Fondo and Poker Rally - New Jersey's first fun Fat Bike event!

This unique event will feature a "Poker Rally" that has participants riding a predetermined course with check points where you will be given a playing card. Prizes awarded based on your "hand". Ride the course as many times as you want in 4 hours to draw new cards for a better hand. In addition to the Poker course there will be various trails set up for fun rides and Fat Bike demos provided by Salsa Cycles!

The days festivities will include hot food and goofy prizes. There are only 2 rules. Rule 1- Your bike must have 3 inch or wider tires. Rule 2- Have fun-No whining. It will probably be cold and it might even be snowing, or even worse, raining. That's kind of the point. Laugh at adversity and don't take it all so seriously. Dress properly and you'll be fine.

So why should you show up for this? Because the Jersey Off Road Bicycle Association needs your support and because winter kinda sucks, but you're tough and this will give you something fun to do!

What if you don't have a Fat Bike? Good news! Salsa Cycles and Cycle Craft will have their demo fleets available on a first come first served basis.

Check in starts at 8:00am-Poker Run starts at 9:00am

Quit sitting on the fence - Sign up now!

In like flint.

Never road Tourne, this should be fat-tastic!

I may have to try to get some playing cards stuck in my spokes......

Shouldn't there be some sort of reservation system for the fat demos? Otherwise one could be one of the first to register and then not have a demo to use? Would be nice to see this as part of the process on Bikereg.

I don't want to speak for Ken, but demos are usually a 20 minute rum, maybe 30 min tops. They are not renting the bikes for the day.....that would cost some coin.

I'll get back to you on the demo deal, but it isnt meant to be a daylong rental.

If I get the new fork for my LaMere in time I can build up my FatBoy for someone to use.

John is likely correct. I'll get it first hand from the rep though. I can guarantee that if you want to demo a fatty you will get one for a loop. You just might not compete in best hand with Jim who may just wind up with a royal flush.😀

ooooowwwww, Dibs on Petes fattie! I'll be in soon, I'm trying to build up a SS and probably doing more damage.

Sorry that I misunderstood. For some reason, I read "Ride the course as many times as you want in 4 hours" and I assumed it was meant that the demos were available for those who register for the "Fat Fondo and Poker Rally.'

I see that the point is that the demos are for 1 lap to try out a fat bike.

Thanks for clarifying.

This looks awesome. Who has a spare fat in large? 🙂

I have heard of this Tourne. Just need the fatness.

I have a 907 for sale that you can test ride by doing this race, if you are interested in it 🙂 I don't care about normal wear & tear, just get it back to me clean and in same (good) working condition.

BTW, it's a medium but a lot of room to adjust since I cut the fork steerer very long and you could run a setback seat post.

This will be some pretty sweet terrain to try the Salsa Bucksaw out in........just saying. It is now available in carbon as well.....cha-ching.
