Gas powered bikes?

Top (GPS measured) speed, 118 vs 142 for the Duc. I'm hoping low 120s with some gearing changes.
Now, I don’t have any experience on motos, but those top speed numbers made me sit up.

Do you have adrenaline leaking out of your ears after a track session?

I was pretty amped after the first couple sessions on the 250 when I realized how fast I was going compared to where I expected to be as well as how much fun it was to ride (I honestly worried I wouldn't like it). Everyone was getting tired of me going on and on about it.

In general though, not really. For me, it's like the feeling after a solid run through Glass or Steelman at Allaire with fast buddies. You weren't excited - you were focused and then you get to enjoy the mental back-off.

Inside Moto Coffee Machine, Hudson, NY. All for sale.

Cafe and motorcycle shop in the same space. Very Ducati-focused, but there’s usually something BMW/Moto Guzzi/Triumph for sale as well, along with some nicely-presented, older Japanese bikes. Mrs.G. & I have been going there for 10-ish years.

There was a Ducati Monster on one of the service lifts this time around.

I miss having a v-twin sport bike. Always lusted over a ducati 916 .

For a little more dollar than a good bicycle. Bought a '26 KLX two months ago.
It's not a barn burner like a 350 Husky or 450 Honda. But it's fun enough for this senior citizen.
Added; DOT knobbies, bash guard, brush guards, rally pack, DoubleTake mirror, Kouba-Link, and heavier shock spring. Upgraded the contact points; seat, pegs, levers, bars, grips. Have a five tooth larger rear sprocket ready to go on. Its a hoot.

I seem to have bought a Norton Commando. Won it on Iconic.

I don't really know anything about them but my friends have 2 or 3 each and thought this one had some nice touches. The big one is electric start, which is I found on ebay for $4300 (!). Engine was rebuilt about 2700 miles ago.

These are a great way to explore the Pines. I usually use moto rides for recovery and an excuse to go to Kingfish for BBQ.

Yuppers. Started riding motos in '72. Started competing in enduros in '77. Was riding motos till around '95 when I got a MTB. It's always been a hoot. Just now getting back to my roots.

Have many fond memories of the club I was in during the late 70s... Hearing stories from one of the guys that competed pre-ww2. And hanging out in Mr. B's garage, drinking beer, watching Ed Hertfelder's home movies. I always knew those moments were cool. But not until I got older did I realize how special those moments were. brrrraaaaap

I counted this morning. NINE between the two of them. Another local guy has 3 or 4. Apparently you can't buy just one.
Been following the Guzzi Guru, Mark Etheridge, on his IG MotoGuzziClassics for a while now. He's hysterical.
Might have been following for too long. Because every now and then he shows a clean vintage LeMans for sale and I start thinking, "that'd be fun to have".

The thought of picking up a 300/350 to kick around in the pines has crossed my mind more than once. Do you normally trailer down or ride there? I'm about 40 minutes north of Atsion/Batsto via 206 and while I'm guessing the mileage on 206 would do a number on the tires I would prefer to just ride in if I were to go that route......currently have a klr650 and it doesn't scoot to well on sand so I'm afraid to try riding it in there.

I live in the Pinelands Reserve, so I just leave from my house. 650’s are a bigger bike, but I have seen many out there, especially the Honda XR650. You should be fine if you stick to the roads, that is a bigger bike than I would want to handle in single track, but I have soft features, plus you can stay out of the singletrack and still have an awesome time.

Ive ridden the pines for years and have had lighter enduro bikes and heavier DS bikes and regardless of which, tires make ALL the difference. I'll take a 650 on Scorpions or similar soft tires vs a 450 on dual sport tires any day. In fact, i used to run my KTM 690 on Scorpion XCMS's and could power wheelie through sugar sand with the grip they could generate. Down side is that you will burn them up quick on pavement so i used to cart it down in the truck when i lived further north. In jackson i would just ride out from the house.
