I need an all weather jacket that I could also wear around town. I got the xenon as a gift but its more a jersey than a jacket. Any advice would be helpful. I'd prefer if it came in orange, but any color will do

This is just my 2 cents, but I think you can get away with something cheaper if you just layered well and had a wind stopper shirt.

If you had a craft windstopper shirt, along with some other thin layers, you could get away with something like this and be very comfy. Granted no orange.

I've got an EMS windstopper vest that I wear under my jersey in the winter. If I get hot I can unzip the vest or pull down my arm warmers. I also wear it under jackets around town and it doesn't add much bulk but keeps me warm. My wife got the long sleeved version for herlsef w/ zipered pockets and wears it as an outer layer while riding or around town. Both are warm and low profile and have worked well for us.

Something like this maybe:

Cycling jackets and around town jackets are 2 separate things. You really don't need a heavy jacket when on the bike, just something with light insulation and form fitting. You could wear a vest underneath and have a good base layer and your good to go.
For around town you need something with a little more bulk to it for insulation, or something big enough to allow for layering underneath.

I would say try to hold off buying a cycling jacket until you can order one with the team. Layer up for now, Craft makes great base layer stuff.

I didnt explain well, I'm gonna return the xenon jacket/jersey thing but I need to order another Gore product. I already have a good windstopper fleece jacket, but was interested in getting something thats more weatherproof for snow rides and such.

Go try some on at Martys Htown. Just tell em you're w me and just need to look at some stuff in real life so you can order it. In other words dont waste any of their sales time😀

This was my solution - Bike and Around Town. Gore - Cosmo

I was looking for the same things that you were. A jacket that I could ride on the road, in the woods and also sport it around town if needed. Jdog recommended this jacket and I could not be happier. On the road I have worn this with just a pattagucci base layer down to 18 degrees. And in the wood I have used this with an under armor base layer to 22 degrees.

Swing by halters and check this out. Worth every cent!

i have the phantom jacket (the one with the removable sleeves). it is plenty warm (i usually wear just a LS baselayer under it around 30s). the only thing i don't like it is the fit. it's supposed to be a slimmer fit but even a size Small is a little baggy on me, but whatever... as long as it's keeping me warm
