Its a lot of drama.

The county park did not close it. The local volunteers/builder/donor are saying its closed as a form of protest.

Someone got hurt and is bringing it to court. The county claims the donor of materials / builder is responsible. Donor/builder says no.

Its all on this IG page.

Either way, I don't see this skills park being around much longer. It looks like the county let the donor/builder put this in, with an agreement that they are liable. This is a free park, no one can afford to hire a lawyer for every lawsuit that pops up. Even if its thrown out of court, lawyer fees are in the $20,000 range.

Mtbers always want a local park to put in a jump line. The above scenario is why it doesnt happen in this area.

Funny I find grahm style of jumps as safe as you can make them , the lines were pan flat to uphill so if you didn't clear them perfectly you had no speed for the remainder. Even the start ramp was short enough that you couldn't really mess it up to bad . Compared to highbridge flow trails that have big spaces of elevation loss between features letting noobs build way to much speed for a jump.
