Hell o Hunterdon!

Great day on the bike, two flats left me alone in the headwinds. Made a century of it and 20 min faster than last year.

So I ended up with one of the untapped kegs of RiverHorse from the event. They had more beer than they needed and somehow a keg ended up in my trunk 🙂 The Promotors were very generous.

I guess I'm going to need help drinking this. Anyone Got a tap I can has?

I believe so - Standard ball tap. If the whether is nice next weekend, perhaps I'll have some folks over for a back yard bon-fire. I ain't drinking this whole damn thing myself.

i'm on it.
need a cold plate, or a tub?

What a great day to be on the bike! It took me about 6 hours but I made it. Legs were screaming, back & shoulders were aching but no flats or mechanicals except for a loose spoke. 700 x 25 Conti 4 seasons at 95 psi were the trick for me.
Pearl, I think I saw you sitting on the curb at the top of the long 40+ mph road downhill run.
My legs are still shot, I'm gonna go pig out at Easter brunch with me Mum now.

Here's my ride http://connect.garmin.com/activity/291139223

I use 28c exclusively being that I not a racer... For me they are enough for hard packed without giving up too much on pavement... I have been on most of the roads this ride covers but would like to do this next year...

I threw on gatorskins the night before but only ran 85lbs in the front and flatted an hour in. Bye bye chase group. Luckily Kevin came by and we got into some strong groups till he flatted again.

I was surprised by the amount of strong peeps that could be found in pockets along the course(in the first group).

This was my first year doing this ride and it seemed to explode with popularity. Two years ago they had 150 cyclists, this year they had close to 600.

Its not a race but guys are throwing down hard efforts and no one waits for you if you get dropped. There is always another wave of riders to get in with, so no biggie. The fact that its not a race is nice because you'll have strong riders stop at a rest stop and kinda regroup. If you time it right you can jump in with them(this happened to me at 2nd rest stop).

To sum up the event you can find race/A+ riding, B riding and peeps just looking to finish and take in the beautiful scenery. The fact that the weather was perfect this year will help to grow this event. I would do this again next year. Beer and food at the end made the event awesome, kinda felt like I was at a Dark Horse party.

Stompf Tavern Rd, this road was 'tits'

that outfit was tits, u need to show up to more races sporting that. I couldnt fine the link to pics...where u get that?

Thanks Capers.

Based on photo's down Stompf rd I would say I finished between 10th -12th...looking at who finished in front of me I am happy with that. Its not a race but this is the pat on the back i needed for my hours of training...or my ego😉

Good work Iggy. Sometimes what matters most about where you finish is who shows up.
I would bet the guys who finished ahead of you were mostly 3-2-1 types.

Good that you learned from HOH and will use that in Bkill to murder your cat.
