New member from Hackettstown, just picked up a Trek X-caliber 4. Haven't ridden in probably 12 years but wanted to start riding again for exercise. Needed to have a lower impact workout because of a bad knee and figured nothing better than biking.

Plan on hitting some trails in the area after I get used to riding again and get some muscles used to moving that haven't been used in a while.

Welcome padre you are in the right place for getting your biking on. We are living the dream in our hood...

Welcome. You're in the right area for a triple park choice of Allamuchy including Stephen's State Park and Deer Park. Check the "Trail Directory" tab above for great (JORBA) park maps.

Welcome aboard ! If you like to get your feet wet sorta speak try Kittatinny. It's a little smaller of a park to venture out on your own. And you can do smaller loops and never be too far away from your car if your cardio is not yet up to speed. If you plan on hitting any of the "Allumuchy" parks get yourself a guide. Although I always had fun getting lost at North on many occasions early on you need your legs for those type of adventures. Good riding.

Thank you all for the info. I will definitely look into Kittatinny. My cardio is definitely not up to par so shorter loops would be beneficial.

Deer Park is also beginner friendly. A few more climbs compared to Kittatiny, but definitely doable. Feel free to PM me if you want a tour of either park

Also, Jungle Habitat...

Many good options where you are. While you are riding, just ask the riders who pass you, too.

Stay on this board to check the rides under the "ride" threads and others.

Welcome aboard, Nlindst.😀
