I have an older road bike and I'm having front derailliar problems. The old one that came one the bike easn't working to good so I got a new one and I'm having troble setting it up to shift properly.Advise PLEASE:cry:

when I try to shift to the big ring the chain pops off then when I adjust the screws it wont shift unlI shift the rear. Should I just bring it to my LBS

Maybe 😀 but it sounds like you can't get it any worse off than it is so no harm in trying once more. Front D is a tough one to start on since they are ridiculously particular and there isn't much margin for error. Sounds like you still need to dial in the upper and lower limit screws. A 1/4 turn can make a huge difference here. If you follow the instructions I posted to a T you should be able to get it set up. It will take time and patience but it's doable. Also make sure you have the derailleur sitting low enough.

And are you sure the derailleur is compatible with the shifter and the chain rings?

I think it is too high after reading that info posted so I'm gonna give it try again and we will see what happens I will keep you posted.

thats the other thing I think they gave me the wrong one cause the one that was on the bike was really short and the one they gave me was much longer. It is a six speed cassette. It is an old Miele road bike but its in mint cond
