Look at these old-ish XT cranks

In an attempt to make my pristine Klein Attitude more period correct, i bought a trashed Klein Attitude for the parts, mostly drivetrain (xt and xtr) and fork (Duke SL). How do i get these off? Allen key or is there something special?

Are the chainrings available? And whats the thoughts on a RockShox Duke SL rebuild? (Ahem, @jimvreeland )

Pretty sure those are self-extracting (i.e. just use a hex key to loosen and then keep going to get the arms off the BB). Can you take a pic of the non-drive side bolt?

Absolutely

Yep, pretty sure those are Octalink. The larger hex you see takes the cover off where the bolt is inserted. You want to leave the cover on to self-extract. should be smaller hex (6 or 8 mm?) in the bolt further in.

That's what those covers do. The head of the crank bolt hits them and drives the arm off.

Also, Octalink is not self extracting, there's a puller for it. Those big weird caps are the bolts.

Luckily you don't have an older version with the press fit BB. No replacements, except to grease and repack what you got
