Mercer County Park Conditions

I took care of the tree on Blue. Also fixed the pedal catcher on Grail. 🤘

On Blue after the Campground and before the intersection with Flash Flood (Red). Closer to the Flash Flood intersection.

Much blow down though the park. Big tree down on Orange along the creek coming from Quakerbridge Rd.
Yup. I cleaned that one up a bit. Needs a little more work. Did a little trimming on Orange too. Please let us know where trees are down and pics if possible.

Al, I'll take a walk this afternoon ( weather permitting) and clear up the tree on Orange. ( and whatever else I see)
Keep track of your time and I'll post it to trail forks.

TAS, Al did a great job on it. It just needs a clean up on the base of it by the trail. There is stuff all over, but one big one by the lake from the berm going to the lake and one also by the old farm house off to the service road for handy cap parking.

Could you point out on a map where they are, please?

I rode through the park yesterday and cleared a bunch of smaller stuff but there are a lot of trees down across the park. The Yellow lakeside trail got hit hardest. The creek below the dam is pretty high creating 3 fairly deep water crossings. @TAS

Came across three trees on the blue trail that were knocked over. I wasnt able to take a picture of the trees but I was able to estimate their locations via my Strava tracking. Screenshots attached.

Ok. Thanks for the info. Can these be cut with a folding saw or do they need a chainsaw?

The one closest to the trail end - assuming you start at the picnic area and end near Bruntsfield Drive - would need a chainsaw. The other two I can't quite remember (this is where pics would've been helpful!). Planning to go by tomorrow morning assuming the air clears up a bit...

Al, I checked his map. Tomorrow morning I will park on the power line and get the one by the big ponds. Then park at the gasoline ROW off of Conover Rd and see about the other two. I need the exercise despite the dam smoke!
TAS

Cleared the 3 trees that were reported on the Blue North Trail.
Plus one additional ā€œlow hangerā€ Hand trimmed along the route.
Smoke mostly lifted and there was a nice breeze.
However, the Gnats were terrible even with repellant!
