Mountain Creek Opening Day is 5/4 !!

that makes two, hope they come through with the DH bikes for kids. Though looking how much my son has grown he prolly can handle a small now...

Cant wait ! Super excited to shred. Whos ready! 🙂

Ready? Ummm...😀
Excited? You betcha!

Only open until 5, I might have to wait until Sunday. Grr!
Is opening day usually insane, maybe I'd be better off waiting till the next weekend for my first time?
Cheers!!

Even the worst lift line at MCBP is just a couple minutes long. It's nothing like the lines for snow sports. I wouldn't really worry about it.

What are they planning for Kids bikes? I bought my son a Specialize Gromhit, new 2007 model a few years ago and Santa gave it to him this year. It would be great to have options for his friends.

Best time is opening day ! Trails will be nice and tacky ! With no brake bumps hopefully lol. .You should def come on opening day.

Opening day is fun. Definitely a bit more crowded than normal, but as J-Dro says, the lift line is never going to be more than a few minutes long. Wish they'd do a half day rental or something free with a season's pass. I'd like to demo some different bikes.

I was up until tonight... new 2012 Boxxer R2C2 arrived. In few weeks I'm going to mount it to my Devinci Ollie.

on the rentals they will be using the old bikes and get some new bikes from the same brand they are going to try to do 2 years with the bikes so this will be the last year with the devinci and gt and then they will be moving on to other companies for next season and kids bikes im not sure but they are trying hard to find some! also pumped for this season to start!

2nd that, I am stoked to give this another shot. My main concern is not lift lines but trail crowding, not sure my newness wants to handle high volume haha

Anyone going to ride on a single crown ??? Besides me hahah... For now that is.
Ill have my Nomad if that counts 😛

You should be fine, I've never seen the trails really crowded. Most of the time, I've seen the lift lines a bit long, and barely see anyone until near the bottom. Then again, I don't ride the really aggressive stuff, I used to be less "chicken" when I raced motocross and Jetskis, but with the age thing, don't want to get hurt.

Crowding isn't this issue, as the lift is pretty quick, it's the noobs standing on the bridges and walking up the transitions to scope out landings that creates the near death scenarios for those who wish to bomb the trails. Either way, should be a good time, plenty to watch from the lift:popcorn:. Oh, and another year without Shaun🙂.

Crowded like this ?

HAHA ... That was actually when they lifts were having some issues and werent running .. The lifts are VERY fast at creek . Even on opening day i dont recall waiting at all really , the lines move super fast . Now the lifts at Plattekill SUCK.

There def are people that STAND in the middle of trails 😡 aka trail blockers so watch out for them , and yes there are people that will scope out jumps/drops without thinking of anyone else .

I wouldnt be worried about your newness , everyone has their own pace , and youll be surprised with how well you will keep up with people .

Guess I'll have to play it by ear. If I leave work early and get there by say...1:00, do you think it'd worth it for a few hours or wait till sunday? I'd love to hook up with some of you guys and have some guidance (if anyone is willing)😀, so that'd factor in too.
Thanks!

Wait till Sunday. Not sure if I am going to Creek or Highland yet, but if I am there you can always tag along for a run or so.
