Mountain Creek Pre-rides

Hey everyone,
We're going to be offering some PRE-rides of the race course Tues 8/6, Thurs 8/8 and Thurs 8/15. This Tuesday we'll meet at the base lodge at 5:30, the lifts will be running and the bike park has offered us a free trip to the top where the start finish area will be. Thursday night the Biergarten is open late for post ride Karaoke, beers and wings. Post on this thread if you think you can make it. Trying to get an idea of the turnout.

Are they offering free trips to the top for both practice days? I'd like to check it out one of those days.
 
You can pre-ride anytime, but for these pre-rides this week and next, Mountain Creek will be offering the lift tickets for the 6th, 8th, and 15th. Just meet at the bike racks in front of the Red Tail Lodge at 5:30 p.m., and you'll be hooked up. We'll have a GPS file up Tuesday, and if you are a current JORBA member, you can get $3 off your lift ticket. You can also access the cross country trails from the Hamburg Mountain WMA side, but then it will be a long climb back to your car after you hit up the biergarten ... 😉
 
I will try but Creek is almost 1h drive and trying to get there with afternoon rush and rt23 is going to be crazy.
Is the ride going to start at 5:30 or little later?

We know it's tight for some people, but we need to try to get rolling by 5:30. That gives us a chance to get up the lift, hopefully get two laps in and get back down the mountain before dark. The park technically closes at 7 p.m. also, so we need to be clearing out pretty close to that time.

There will be a GPS/Strava file up after tomorrow, and as it gets ridden more this week, it will get more burned in and easier to follow. There will also be a lots of people out riding it this weekend as well, so you're sure to find someone out there then too.
 
Im not going to be able to make it tonight, but thursday im in. Cant wait to check it out.
 
Art and my teammate will be there tonight. I will try to get there next Thursday. Looking forward to checking out the new venue!
 
Thanks to everyone who came out tonight. Course is still being polished, but is already a good fun ride. Having trouble with our hosting tonight, so GPS file will be uploaded tomorrow, but in the meantime, here's the file on the Garmin site, and here's the Strava segment.

Calling for rain for Thursday, will have to see how it shakes out for our pre-ride then - stay tuned!
 
Race day parking will be in the regular bike park lot across the street - you can use the bridge to over to the lodge, where registration will be.
