MudChix Beginner ride April 14

So here is the beginning of the Mudchix.com women's beginner ride series. This is for women or girls of any age! Only requirement is a helmet and off-road friendly bike. This means it must have tires with a knobby tread. You can't ride with slick tires in the woods 🙂. Also having front suspension is a plus, since it will make it more comfortable for you!

My plan for the first ride is at Allaire state park on Sunday April 14 around 9 am. Depending on the flexibility of everyone we can adjust the time as it gets closer. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join but for those non-beginners this is a beginner ride. It will be slow paced with stops as needed to either regroup or practice a skill/obstacle. It is social but I want to keep it moving so that we can get in a good amount of riding. I will do a beginner rides at various beginner friendly parks around NJ throughout the summer!

Hooray!!! I am so excited and cannot wait to see you ladies out there!

PS. it is still spring so this ride is weather dependent. If it is raining or rained heavily the night before the ride will be postponed. Wrecking the trails isn't my objective.

Just wanted to point out you have 4/14 in the title and 4/4 in the body of the text. I'm passing this on to a few girls who may be interested. Thanks!

So what's the deal, if I bring my daughter down (age 13) can I ride along or do I need to find something else to do? 😀 (i.e. is this strictly a females only ride?)

Thanks,

Tim

Hey Tim!! I am glad you are bringing you daughter out! You are an awesome dad! I tend to want to keep the ladies separate since sometimes the male half can be a little intimidating on the trail (guys have no fear sometimes lol). This looks like its going to be a small ride based on the response so you are welcome to join us. I don't like anyone riding by themselves for safety reasons and the more the merrier! I believe there will be another guy with us as well so if one of you knows the park you are welcome to take off 🙂.

How much has your daughter been riding? Can you tell me a little bit about her bike? Allaire is a pretty easy place to ride but I want to make sure she has tons of fun so having the right bike is key 🙂 .

I can't wait to see you guys on sunday!

Hello, i'm planning on it! Never been before....are there multiple parking lots?

There is only one lot on hospital rd 🙂 if you are coming off of parkway when you get onto hospital road it will be on the right about a 1 mile down. You can't miss it, its huge and usually filled with cars.

I will be there in my blue subaru wearing hot pink minnie mouse ears on my head lol

Allyg,

Sorry I just got the revised weekend schedule and it looks like we won't make it.

Hopefully we can catch the next one.

My daughter has a Trek 6500 HT with decent components, she's been to 6Mile a few times so she should be fine.

Hope you have a good ride.

Tim

You'll be missed drob 🙁. I LOVE six mile! I would definitely go there and ride around! I plan on doing a beginner ride there next! Maybe we can meet up next weekend and ride.

Debbie, are you still in?

I forgot my Minnie ears :/ but I will be in a blue Subaru impress covered in stickers. My bike has hot pink grips. There will be two others joining us since we are a small group 🙂
